EX-OFFICIO MEMBER / EFSUMB NEWSLETTER EDITOR
I pursued my university studies and professional training at the Ioannina University Medical School, Greece, from which I also received my PhD. I worked as a Research Fellow in Fetal Medicine at Harris Birthright Research Centre, King’s College Hospital (Director Professor KH Nicolaides), with a full two-years scholarship from the Fetal Medicine Foundation. Upon completion of my training I was awarded the Diploma in Fetal Medicine, which requires successfully completing all modules of training and publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
I was elected Lecturer at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2010 (appointed in 2012) and was promoted to Assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014. I have published 77 peer-reviewed articles so far and my H-index (as of October 2016) is 25.
I am a member of the executive board of the Hellenic Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (HSUOG), a member of the Clinical Standards Committee of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and a member of the Publications Committee of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB).
I am a member of the Editorial Board of Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics (EIC Professor Olaf Ortmann). Finally, I am an Editor for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (EIC Professor Basky Thilaganathan), which is the leading publication in our field.
