Overview of the course:
High-frequency ultrasonography is the primary imaging modality for the evaluation of abdominal disorders in children and adolescents. Its non-invasive nature, absence of ionising radiation, bedside availability, and excellent diagnostic performance make ultrasound an indispensable tool in paediatric clinical practice.
This one-day Englich/Greek speaking course provides a structured introduction to pediatric abdominal ultrasonography, combining focused lectures with extensive hands on training. Participants will learn normal abdominal sonoanatomy, standard scanning protocols, and practical approaches to common paediatric pathologies, with a strong focus on bowel ultrasound and the sonographic evaluation of acute abdominal pain, including right lower quadrant pathology and appendicitis.
