Overview of the course
Highfrequency ultrasound is becoming an essential tool in dermatology because it enables a more precise, noninvasive, real-time characterization of normal skin structures as well as of the associated pathology (inflammatory, oncological, aesthetic complications), significantly improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning, enabling a more individualized approach towards our patients. During this one-day, english speaking, course we will cover the most important and relevant applications of ultrasound in the dermatological field:

  • Fundamentals of ultrasound in dermatology
  • Sonoanatomy of the integument and associated structures
  • Ultrasound in inflammatory dermatoses
  • Ultrasound in benign lesions
  • Ultrasound in skin cancer and onco-surgery
  • Applications of Ultrasound in aesthetics

Learning Objectives:
– Understanding of the fundamental physics of ultrasonography
– Image optimization and operation, adjustment of ultrasound equipment
– Understanding of advanced cross sectional area ultrasound of skin
– Identification of the normal appearance of integument and associated structures
– Identification of pathological findings in inflammatory dermatoses, benign skin lesions and skin cancer
– Acquisition of all the necessary skills in order to perform utrasound guided aesthetic facial injections efficiently
– Interpretation of normal/pathological findings in everyday clinical scenarios.
