A 76 year old male known with chronic B hepatitis presented with jaundice, splenomegaly and ascites. An ultrasound examination of the liver was performed, with contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) followed by color Doppler and power Doppler imaging, indicating the following complication:

a benign portal vein thrombosis

cavernomatous transformation of the portal vein

a malignant portal vein thrombosis

hepatic artery infarction

hepatic arterial - venous shunting
