Introduction: US-Guided interventions in trauma patients

Learning Objectives:
1. Know the indication and technique of US-guided fine needle puncture (FNP) of free fluid in the abdominal, pleural or pericardial cavity in trauma patients to confirm blood and rule out effusion prior to immediate emergency surgery/intervention.

2. Know the indication and technique of US-guided FNP of fluid collections in order to detect or exclude suspected infectious or other complications in postoperative patients after trauma surgery.

3. Know the indication and technique of US-guided drainage of postoperative fluid collections or abscesses after trauma surgery.
